About Me
I’m Damon Rector, a sports creative and video storyteller based in Indiana.
I currently serve as the Director of Creative Content - Video for Butler Athletics. My role focuses heavily on men’s basketball, while also supporting video coverage and creative content across all 20 varsity programs. That work includes game coverage, hype videos, player features, recruiting content, social video, in-venue pieces, and day-to-day storytelling.
I graduated from Butler in 2019 and returned to the department in 2022. Since then, I’ve helped grow Butler Athletics’ digital presence, produce high-level content in-house, and support a wide range of teams, coaches, and student-athletes. My work has been featured by Sports Illustrated, FOX Sports, and ESPN.
I’ve also had the chance to work with and mentor student creatives who have gone on to opportunities with the Indiana Fever, Indiana Pacers, Cal Athletics, Big Ten Network, and IndyCar on FOX.
